Dear Don:
It is my great pleasure to recognize the Midnight Sun Chapter as one of the 2010-2011 recipients of the Small Chapter of the Year Award! There were two winners this year in the small category, Midnight Sun Chapter and Kitty Hawk Chapter from Region VII, as the exemplary petitions from both groups were worthy and deserving of the Small Chapter of the Year award. I understand the work and team effort that goes into a successful chapter year, as well as the diligence it takes to track the information requested for the Chapter Stars petition.
Chapter of the Year Awards will be given out at the Chapter Recognition Luncheon on Monday, June 4, 2012, at ASSE’s Annual Professional Development Conference in Denver. Colorado. The luncheon will be held at the Colorado Convention Center from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm. As an award winner, the Society will reimburse you for travel expenses up to $500.00 so that you may send a representative from your chapter to receive this prestigious award in person. You, or one member of the Chapter’s Executive Committee, will be asked to come up to receive your award on behalf of the Chapter. You will also have 3-4 minutes to speak to your fellow members after receiving your award. We ask that you briefly summarize what made your chapter successful during the 2010-2011 Chapter Year. Group photos can be taken at the conclusion of the luncheon.
As a Chapter of the Year Award winner, you are identified as a leader amongst the 150 ASSE chapters throughout the world, with regard to your professional development, chapter communication and superior service to your constituency. You have set your chapter apart as a true performer and you should be proud of your achievements. Your dedication and commitment have truly helped ASSE to continue to grow and thrive as a premiere organization through your outstanding efforts.
My hope is that the Society will continue to nurture leaders like you and that the chapters will continue to strive for excellence by following your example. I hope that your term as a Chapter President was only the beginning of your service to the Society and that you continue to thrive as a leader for ASSE on the local, regional and national levels.
Again, congratulations on your accomplishment and an award winning year! I hope to see you in Denver!
Sincerely,
Terrie S. Norris, CSP, ARM, CPSI
Society President
